Ellie and Joel
Watercolor and acrylic gouache painting of a scene from Episode 8 of The Last of Us. In this scene, Ellie just fought for her life. Once reunited, Joel comforts her and says, "It's OK, baby girl. I got you. I got you."
This is a turning point for the series. Baby girl was a nickname for Joel’s daughter, Sarah, who tragically dies in the first episode. Throughout the show, he refuses to see Ellie as anything other than “cargo.” Finally, Joel sees her as family - as a daughter.
